The Begining

Everything has a begining. It might not always be clear at the time, but when you look back, there is always that one thing, moment, or person that starts the chain reaction.

This is my begining, my families start at a new way of life.

I wasn't sure I was going to go through with the idea/plan to change our way of life. It goes against everything our society has told us, everything we have been conditioned to believe.

We have been taught that our livelihood and welfare is dependent on a system created by the wealthy to keep everyone below them in line. We must buy, buy, buy. We need to only know the bare minimum to keep this idea going. “Buy, buy, buy. Don't do something yourself, pay for someone to do it for you. Don't think about where anything comes from. Let your government do that. Give us all the power because we know what's best for everyone. We can do it better.”

Our society is now paying the price for this. The world is falling apart. The air, water, and land are toxic. The education we are passing down to each generation is getting smaller. The social ties that have kept us connected are falling away. And still, the powers that be are telling us to keep buying while keeping our heads in the sand.

I want to break this cycle. I want to put in the hard work in hopes that my children have a better life than the one I will have (no disrespect towards my mom or the generations before. This problem is an inherited problem passed down from those that want to be in power.)

I want to show my kids that there is an alternative way of life, that there is another option if you are willing to put the work in for it.

For our family, it means going back to basics. It means knowing where our food comes from, what chemicals are we exposing ourselves to, how we are contributing to a broken system. It’s taking accountability for our part.

I want to do better. So that is where our begining starts. We will make many mistakes along the way, and I can’t wait to see what they are. Growth comes from failure. So heres to the failures that will bring us closer together as a family.

I hope you all will come with us on this journey. Please, ask questions if you are confused as to why we make a decision. Talk to us if you don’t agree with something we say. I love having conversations with people. There is no way to always agree on all the same things in this world, but there is always a way to talk about it and work the problem so that understanding and compassion are kept the main focal point. My goal is to embark on this journey and bring as many people as I can along so that we can build a stronger community filled with laughter, love, and understanding.
